Caroline HUME trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Orléans, specializing in painting and engraving. Her work oscillates between engraving, painting and, more particularly, working with inks and gold.
For over 20 years, she has been mixing the techniques of engraving, painting, and playing with inks… Sculpture complements her graphic work.
The theme of her research is duality, above all that of black and white, but also that of engraving and painting. The confrontation of these opposing and equivalent forces gives rise to a dialogue that oscillates between calm and energy. Her aim is to make the unspeakable visible, not to mention to bear witness, but mainly to reveal the inner self.
